I want to introduce Amakusa. It's my hometown. Amakusa has very pleasant surroundings.

How do you come to Amakusa? You can use the airplane, " Dash 8 ". But I recommend using your car, and you can cross beautiful 5 bridges.

In Amakusa, there are many spots where we can see beautiful sea

" Mogushi sea bathing spot " is very popular. It is in Ushibuka, the south of Amakusa. In summer, many people come there to swim. And this place was used by the filming of TV drama , "MUSASHI". The clear and blue water fascinate people.

In Ituwa, you can see many dolphins on the ship. They are very cute!!!

You can see this view in Amakusa town. The beauty looks like a picture.

Delicious foods of Amakusa

As Amakusa is surrounded by sea, we can eat fresh and delicious fish. Sashimi is great.

Dekopons are a special product of Amakusa. They fall into the same category as ponkan. The top of them protrude. It is interesting shape. Their taste are great, very sweet. I like them very much.

Toukouzi

It is a big temple. It is near my house. So I would often go to the temple, and I sometimes practice zazen. It was built in 1648 to relieve people's heart damaged from " The revolt of Amakusa and Shimabara ". The revolt is known nationally. Christan fought against the government in 1637. Amakusa Shirou is a famous person.

Szukizinzya

" Suzukizinnzya " is a beautiful shrine. It was built in 1653. Suzuki Shigenari enshrined there. He left a great accomplishment for Amakusa. He committed suicide to cut down the people's heavy tax.

In autumn, a big festival is held. Many stalls are open. Children carry a portable shrine. Men have a sumo bout each other.

Tomiokazyo

This castle is " Tomiokazyo ". To be accurate, it is the vestige of castle. It was built in 1602 to rule Amakusa by Terasawa. Once, although it was attacked by Christians commanded by Amakusa Shiro three times, it left barely. Many years later, it was deserted because it was considered to be an unnecessary castle. As the result, only stone walls were left.

Now, the vestige of castle was repaired and there are structures built to imitate a castle there. And they are a very beautiful. You can enjoy there sufficiently. Addition to it, the view from there is soooo beautiful. When you visit Amakusa, I want you to visit there.

I have lived in Amakusa for 18 years, so I know many good points of Amakusa. Above all, the greatest fascination of Amakusa is beauty of nature. Although people may not enjoy shopping or playing in the city, they can be refreshed to their heart's content in nature. I hope that many people come to Amakusa and get to like Amakusa(478words).
