I read " THE HOUSE OF THE SEVEN GABLES ". This was little bit a dark story. I don't like this book, but I like its illustrations, because they are beautiful. I couldn't understand this story very much. This story is about happy times and unhappy times, good people and bad people.
A old woman, Hepziban , is opening a small store. The store is in her cousin's dig old house. A dead man visits her store. He was her cousin and built the big old house. She don't like him. The gloomy days go on. But a girl change the days. The girl is her little cousin, Phoebe. She comes her house to work for her. She is a good girl. She change the house's atmosphere(127words).
